Unit Supervisors

Your Neighborhood Initiative Unit supervisors are:

  • Lieutenant George Delmastro (NI Supervisor) 203-815-2507 gdelmastro@meridenct.gov
  • Sergeant DelMastro has been a member of the Meriden Police Department since 1997. He is a decorated Officer who is currently assigned to the Neighborhood Initiative Unit. His primary responsibility is to supervise the Neighborhood Initiative Officers and to assist in supervising the School Resource Officers. He is a Hostage Negotiator and specially trained in CIT. He also has a degree in Criminal Justice.

  • Officer Decrisantis began his law enforcement career with the Meriden Police in 2006. He has served on the SWAT team since 2008, the Crime Suppression Unit and was transfered to the NI unit in 2014. He graduated from Franklin Pierce College in 2006 with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

  • Officer David D'Onofrio has been a member of the Meriden Police Department since 2008. He is an instructor in numerous police related topics, as well as being certified in off-road vehicles. He is a member of the Police Honor Guard. He was selected as officer of the month in 2015 and is currently working on a project to acquire basketball courts for Columbus Park for the neighborhood children.

  • Officer Christopher Griffin has been a member of the Meriden Police Department since October 2008.  Officer Griffin is also a member of the Crash Reconstruction Unit and is a Field Training Officer.  He is currently assigned as the neighborhood officer for ACTION 13 and Westsiders.

  • Officer Michael Hadvab has been a member of the Meriden Police Department for 19 years. He is certified as a mountain bike officer who patrols the neighborhood on his bicycle. He coordinates an annual food drive to assist organizations in the community to provide food to those in need. Officer Hadvab was a DARE instructor for 11 years, as well as a School Resource Officer at Lincoln Middle School for four (4) years.  Officer Hadvab has also been the Lead Advisor for the Meriden Police Cadets.

Code Enforcement / Crime Prevention

  • Officer Ford has been a police officer for 11 years. Officer Ford started his career with the New York City Police Department prior to coming to the City of Meriden in 2007. Officer Ford has been with the Neighborhood Initiative since 2013 as the code liaison officer, working with city hall and the council of neighborhoods. Officer Ford for the last several years has participated in the Police Unity Tour a 300+ mile bike ride to Washington D.C. to help bring awareness to officers killed in the line of duty.
